Hello, my name is Shawn Brooks and I am the founder of Shawn Brooks Photography & Design. MY BACKGROUND

I grew up in an industrial city in Pennsylvania called Aliquippa, population 11,341 located several miles from Pittsburgh. Aliquippa is best known as the location of a productive steel mill that the Jones and Laughlin Steel Company constructed there along the Ohio River beginning in 1905. I experienced a renewed enthusiasm and appreciation for photography after taking a basic graphic design/photography class in high school.

Throughout the last 15 years I have been capturing life moments of friends and family. With very little planning and the encouragement of admirers, my transformation from photo hobbyist to full-fledged photojournalist was not part of a pre-planned career path. In fact, I am “forever grateful” to my friends, family and the complete strangers who offered everything from suggestions to forthright pleas that I become a professional photographer. I followed the suggestions and started a Design Firm  that specializes in Graphic Design, Web Design, and Photography. The career path gave me the ability to pursue my creative dreams and quench my creative desires.

Today I reside in Miami, Florida., where I'm living my dream: working with people and capturing life’s precious moments. My images capture both spontaneous and studied moments. My passion for photography has propelled me to new heights. My goal is to leave my footprint on the photography world. My clients appreciate my creative style and ability to capture the decisive moment, expression, and emotion of my subject. Whether it’s a one-on-one portrait session, capturing the special moments of a wedding day or covering an assignment for a major corporation, my experience and personalized attention combine to meet and usually exceed my client’s expectations.
